The Pirates That Won’t Do Anything
Unfortunately, the character designs I did for my studio were separated out before the presentation took place. No idea why, and since we weren’t given any information about what they were looking for stylistically, it’s not really too surprising.
Well, seeing as designing characters was open to all employees and none got paid for it so far, the characters as such are still my own. They are comparably simple and unusually colourful and I had fun playing around with them.

OK, there’s still some animation to be taken care of. Back to actual, contracted work. Monday.

Heh, thanks! They are meant to be “Die Unsinkbaren Drei”, by the way, just in case you get to tune in to WDR 5 over there.

Your work is awsome. You’ve really inspired me to get my ass back in gear and put the pencil to the paper. Hows that Wacom?? I’m getting one soon and I hope I like it. But I agree with you…pencil and paper is the only way to go for sketching and photoshop for color, definately.

Cheers.
A Wacom certainly is a good tool that can save you some material (and working space). Basically the principles are the same as they are for working with brushes and colours. I started with watercolours and went to acrylics later on. That sure helped me figuring the Wacom out. I still have several (understatement) things to learn in either medium.
