Another Remake In The Works

Happy New Year!
The French internet portal canalj put some of the animated Rudolf shorts online, part of the animation and production team of which I have been for almost a year now.
Here’s a little Christmas story we worked on earlier this year:
It’s in German and not dubbed, but enjoy anyway and Merry Christmas.

I’m animating again and with the characters we’re using at the moment it’s possible to do it directly on the Cintiqs the studio bought us. Much more flexible than scanning everything into Animo first. (I just hate Animo’s numbering system.)

Work is still going strong at the Cologne animation studio, and especially fun because I’m currently getting a crash course in Flash with a pay on top.
What we’re working on is
| Rudolf, the misadventures of a strange-looking rabbit-thing, thought up by Belgian animator, storyboard artist and director Rudi Mertens. Work will be outsourced to Asia soon but there’s a chance the Flash clean-up team will get to animate on episodes instead. Not a bad deal at all!
I haven’t really had the time to draw for myself much. The following two sketches are actually several months old. |

Also, Mr Martinez tells me the demo for his upcoming graphic adventure Shades of Violet will be out soon. I think what they have put together looks fantastically good for an independently developed game and I’m very glad to have been given the chance to design the demo’s locations.
Much work all around.
Commissions for Heriberto Valle Martinez and his indie adventure game “Shades of Violet”. I hope to be able to play the demo soon.

| Layout |
It’s cluttered in places. Some good colour and strategic lighting should help but I prefer it if a layout reads clearly from the very beginning.
Hardly any time to draw for myself because I’m animating for a studio again. Good times!
