There’s nothing really special about these quick Wizard of Oz sketches except that they were done on a Wacom. Yup, no paper involved at all. Definitely not my preferred way of doodling, that’s for sure. I highly value PhotoShop as a colouring and compositing tool but for actual creative work I need a pencil pressing against the callus on my right hand’s middle finger and some paper to stare at.

Well, Happy Valentine’s Day.

Unfortunately, the character designs I did for my studio were separated out before the presentation took place. No idea why, and since we weren’t given any information about what they were looking for stylistically, it’s not really too surprising.

Well, seeing as designing characters was open to all employees and none got paid for it so far, the characters as such are still my own. They are comparably simple and unusually colourful and I had fun playing around with them.

OK, there’s still some animation to be taken care of. Back to actual, contracted work. Monday.

New Year’s Eve sucked but there’s a whole new year to make up for it.

A pig guy, a Wee Free Man (”A Hat Full Of Sky” is my current audio book) and Germany’s most famous viking. They are planning a new show based on one of Germany’s most famous radio programs for children. I submitted some character designs which I can’t, unfortunately, show right here and now. More about that if and when there are news.
On to ever newer and more interesting things!

Ah, the holidays. I get to draw for my own amusement for a change!

If, unlike us guys here in Germany, you can’t indulge in the very materialistic aspects of Christmas until tomorrow morning, just go and hijack yourself one of Santa’s fake little helpers’ sleighs.
